The story of Apple Valley

Apple Valley took its name from the orchards planted here in the early 1900s, and its identity from the postwar boom led by Newt Bass and Bud Westlund, who built the Apple Valley Inn and drew Hollywood out for desert weekends — Roy Rogers and Dale Evans made it their home for decades.
