Windsor Hills Real Estate

Known as the last Black Beverly Hills.

The story of Windsor Hills

Built largely in the 1930s and '40s alongside View Park, Windsor Hills shares the same Olmsted-influenced street grid and elevated topography but has retained its original character with less redevelopment. Often called the 'last Black Beverly Hills,' it was a haven for Black professionals and entertainers who were shut out of Beverly Hills and Bel Air by discriminatory practices. Its mature tree canopy and traditional architecture — Tudor, French Normandy, Spanish — have made it one of the most consistently appreciating enclaves in South LA, with a preservation-minded community that has fought hard to maintain its character.
