Jefferson Park Real Estate

Where the trolley cars once ran down Jefferson.

The story of Jefferson Park

Platted in 1905 and built out by 1925, Jefferson Park was one of LA's most intact early-20th-century streetcar suburbs — the Pacific Electric Red Car trolley ran right down Jefferson Boulevard, connecting residents to downtown and the beach in minutes. Designated a Historic Preservation Overlay Zone (HPOZ) in 2010, its block after block of Craftsman bungalows and California Foursquares are protected from teardown. The neighborhood was one of the first in South LA to see organized Black homebuying in the 1950s, and the architectural fabric remains remarkably untouched.
