Lancaster Real Estate

Poppy fields, wide skies, and room to build.

The story of Lancaster

Lancaster grew up around the Southern Pacific rail line in 1876 and later around Edwards Air Force Base, where the sound barrier was broken in 1947 and the Space Shuttle landed for three decades. The Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve turns the western hills orange each spring, and the city's own experiment — the musical 'Civic Musical Road' on Avenue G — is a local landmark. Incorporated in 1977, Lancaster has pushed hard into solar energy and became one of the first U.S. cities to run on net-zero electricity. For buyers, it offers the Antelope Valley's largest inventory of newer single-family homes on full-size lots, plus BLVD downtown redevelopment.
