Original mid-century LA, minutes from the runway.

The story of Westchester

Built rapidly between 1941 and the early 1950s to house aerospace workers at Hughes, Douglas, and North American Aviation, Westchester is one of Los Angeles's most intact post-war neighborhoods. Its grid of single-story ranches and traditionals on generous lots — Kentwood, Westport Heights, Osage — was designed for the families building America's jet age. Today, proximity to LAX, Silicon Beach, Loyola Marymount University, and the redeveloped LA Rams/Chargers/SoFi corridor has made Westchester one of the fastest-appreciating value plays on the Westside, with original ranches steadily giving way to large-scale modern remodels.
